ChicagoFIRST wishes the best to an outgoing staff member Paul Neff
Associate Director Paul Neff served ChicagoFIRST for over ten years as a member representative, agency partner, volunteer, and employee and is now moving on to a new chapter. He is making a change in a first step in “retirement” and will ultimately be relocating out of state. However, Paul will remain active in the Cyber community.
Paul has a long history of public service. Just prior to his Director position with ChicagoFIRST Paul served as Director of Cyber Policy, Preparedness and Response in the U.S. Treasury’s Office of Cybersecurity and Critical Infrastructure Protection, where he oversaw a significant expansion of Treasury’s Sector Risk Management Agency engagement with the U.S. financial services sector and played a key role in several cybersecurity policy response actions. Prior to his Treasury service, Paul held several roles at the Federal Reserve Banks of Chicago and Cleveland over nineteen years of service, where he led technology supervision for several financial sector critical infrastructure firms and led or co-led development of cybersecurity programs and functions for incident management, threat intelligence, policy research, supervisory guidance, and examiner training and education. Other past roles include Chief Security Officer for a multinational service provider (Williams Lea, Inc.), adjunct instructor for Information Security at Northwestern University, and various senior technical systems and cybersecurity engineering roles over a thirty-year career. Throughout his service, Paul has remained committed to building resilience through information sharing and public-private partnership, and always contributed to ChicagoFIRST’s essential mission.”
Paul will remain on ChicagoFIRST as an Officer or the Board continuing to share his expertise and talent. We wish him the best in his new life adventure.
